For this project I designed a out-patient healthcare facility that cares for patients who have lost parts of their body because of conflicts in their countries. These patients are mainly African, Middle Eastern and South American, so I decided to create a space that all would be able to relate to as they would be far from home, but also create a space where they would get education and learn new professions; this way when they return home they can take care of themselves. The concept of the space was joints, as it relates to both orthotics and prosthetics. I wanted to create spaces similar to joints, so spaces that would be flexible, spaces that can move and rotate and spaces that can go from private to public with the swing of a wall.
