Art Museum

Objective of the Project (i.e. study design of a small structure):
This city did not have any place for introducing their contemporary art.

Description of Design Objectives and Concept:
Contemporary museum of Hamadan took place in the 6075 m2 area in the center of Hamadan city. This area has a difference height  about 22 meters from southern east to northern west. The slope is about % 20 .The car access to the museum is from southern east , up the hill. Because of the stony ground of this area we had to minimize carving the ground for the underground spaces. For this purpose we use the ground's slope. The entrance of the museum is 16 meters above the pavement so we designed  ramp, stairs and elevators so it makes an easy accesses to the museum. The ramps and stairs are also part of the outdoor galleries.   Cars can park in the southern east  of the site and because of this parking space we designed a pavement for pedestrians .  The parking ramp for the employees uses the natural slope of the site and is in the eastern part of the plan . The formation of the building is based on the slope of the site. Because of the slope the building the building has a form of stairs from east to west. The highest part of the building is the eternal part of the museum in three levels with a prism form. This part of the building connects to the shorter forms by connection with windows in the roof. The shorter part is in two levels and includes galleries, workshops and administrative.
