Located Florence Italy, this project was realized during my semester abroad at Palazzo Rucellai.  Our course long studio project was the creation of a Piazza, coupled with a housing development and civic space in what was at that time a derelict unused site near a church.  For the Piazza, a gesture was created to draw people through the space and then down towards the Arno River.  Large greenspaces, sustainable bookshelves, and even a small wind turbine were all incorporated.  For the housing, I focused on a modular, sustainable development -  while paying homage to the monasteries of old that were so prominent in the city’s past.
