The Field and Forest Table is my most recent furniture project. The maple top is supported by 100 wooden dowels arranged in an irregular pattern. The 1/16 inch dowels puncture a white glossy MDF base. Stainless steel wires run diagonally between the top and bottom pieces, providing lateral structural stability. The table top, finished with beeswax, uses a dowel-reinforced miter joint.
