The intervention for the rehabilitation of the watermills along the streams of Alferreira and Baroque is based on a territorial analysis in three successive scales approaching the two areas of intervention. It considers first a global scale related with the territory around the intervention perimeter; a second scale that is closer, on which is opted to focus on five areas, spaces where ideas are lauched for the development of the study area. The following scale, is related to both two built-intervention zones that clarifies a concrete explanation of the idea for a project construction.

For this intervention, a temporary housing unit is proposed is itself a type of stay to take advantage of direct pre-existence in ruins as well as the proximity of water, calling the Refugio de Ribeira. This is designed so as to solve a separate apartment on the grounds of place of stay which appropriates Ruin organically but in order to emphasize its existence, condition yourself to its setting and taking advantage of the fenestration, as well as the lack of coverage as a pretext for increasing the footprint of this new occupation inside the ruin.

Downstream to the mill, set to intervention by the Ribeira de Alferreira meeting of the Tagus, the option is to affirm a core of local activities in which fits the intervention in Mill PR1. In this, it recovered one of the mills, the body B and a room instala.se support activities relate to the core on the other, defined as body A. This form is designed, within a set of programs, two built that complement its functions.
