Over the past 4 years I have been employed at G. Switzer Architecture P.C., a small full service architecture firm, where I currently manage multiple commercial, residential and restaurant design projects. Most of my responsibilities are that of a project manager or job captain. Being the most senior person at my firm under the Principal, I lead and collaborate with my team from initial design phase to project construction and completion. Working in a small firm has given me exposure to all aspects of the practice. When I am not in the office, I am surveying, actively participating in meetings with our clients to presenting our solutions and designs, and on site, overseeing construction and advising contractors when necessary. When in the office I am developing full construction documents, maintaining constant contact with clients via email or phone and developing solutions for all projects I am currently involved in.

217 BUFFALO AVENUE (Residential building)

I have been highly involved in managing this project from pre-design to construction document production and construction phase. I spearheaded the project with very little supervision and guidance. This led to the exposure of new aspects of the practice including, but not limited to completing building F.A.R. and zoning calculations, researching zoning and building codes and making sure all designs complied. I also gained knowledge in structural design, collaborating with structural engineers to determine and detail the system which would be used during construction. I developed a design that provides desired living conditions for the occupants while maximizing the amount of allowable units and fulfilling the clients needs.

JAY SUITES (Commercial Offices)

Highly involved in space planning, programming and design all commercial interiors ranging from 12,000 to 20,000 sq.ft. for Jay Suites, a company which provides high end, luxury all-inclusive office spaces throughout New York City. I have produced all CD’s and overseen construction of the their multiple locations since my initial hire. This project has allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of construction and an ability to develop a rapport with contractors that has led me to occasionally advise them with solutions of any unforeseen issues that may develop on site.
