Bergamot Studios is a transit oriented urban development project in the city of Santa Monica. The driving force that led to the design was based on the demographics. Research shows that Santa Monica holds a large number creative population compared to other cities like Los Angeles and San
Francisco. Based on this fact, the creative class is the main target in the design of this project. The goal is to create an identity that not only the local population will enjoy it but also visitors could experience it. By having art in different forms as the main theme, streets will activated and people can be influenced in walking and using public transportation. Art in general always try to induce interaction which reflects in the Bergamot Studios master plan. The two major components of the plan begins with a light rail station and a innovative technology museum and school at the other end. Both points are connected by a wide pedestrian street that promotes art and creativity.
