HI-LIGHT

HI-LIGHT is a housing project for recent graduates transitioning into the workforce. The transition from school to the workforce often leaves young graduates without the social network and life support that they have become accustomed to in school. It now takes effort and time to socialize, exercise, or even cook. Within the housing block, HILIGHT provides a potential for social interaction through the woven circulatory paths within and around the living spaces. The addition of convenient amenities throughout the building providing meals, laundry, and grooming services help residents with their daily life.

The downtown Buffalo area has many office buildings but provides very limited housing. This leads to dependence on cars for daily commutes. HI-LIGHT sits within a 10-minute walking distance of the high-density office district and dining and entertainment areas. More critically it is very close to public transportation that reaches across the city.
