Wellness Tower and Atlanta Health District

A Senior Design competition studio in which teams of three were asked to develop urban design and architecture concepts for a client developing a property for a mixed use skyscraper in Downtown, Atlanta. Our proposal for the site was to accentuate the connection to the adjacent Emory Hospital by developing a health district for the community. By harnessing the healthcare initiative of the existing surroundings, our project focused on creating a skyscraper and community that flourished off of the idea of a healthy lifestyle. The competition was judged by a diverse group of professionals including representatives from local and national architecture firms, Atlanta city planners, and the Atlanta City Council president.

- Team Leader and Lead Designer
- Proposed changes to the existing urban fabric surrounding the site to improve traffic flow, walkability, and safety
- Proposed a three phase plan to gradually gentrify the site and the context to create an effective health district
- Developed innovative design solutions and concepts to design a highly functioning and futuristic skyscraper
- Used Rhinoceros and Grasshopper to 3d model and design the structure
- Used Vray for Rhino, Illustrator, and Photoshop to produce diagrams, renderings and detail drawings
- Presented the proposal to a group of approximately 30 people including the client, peers, faculty and jury
