As a young female architect graduated from the Delft University of Technology, I have gained in-depth awareness of form and valuable experiences in computational design. During this period I studied six months at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. There I had my first experience with Python in Rhino/Grasshopper and Java in Processing. Back in Delft, this lets me decide to study Computer Science for half-a-year.

Innovative technology challenges my creativity and enhances my exploration for new design methodologies and architectural representations. During my time as a student, I supported my drive to discover by completing a foundation degree in photography and a minor in animation. Here I developed knowledge to animate in Maya and a strong understanding of composition, lightning and motion.

Honorable Mention Graduation Project, Honorable Mention

The Board of Examiners of the Faculty of Architecture awards L. van Hoek an honorable mention on the grounds of strong conceptual thinking implemented into innovative architectural design dealing with state-of-the-art computer-based methodologies employed in architectural design.

Developed from conceptual design to detailed construction drawings and physical prototypes the project demonstrates spatial coherence form urban to architectural scale. Furthermore, graduation project represents a valuable contribution to the domain of Non-standard and Interactive Architecture by employing digital date mapping techniques translated into an innovative design proposal and by challenging conventional spatial design methodologies through utilization of computational simulation techniques in the conceptualization and design process.
