About

Licensed Architect in California C-40418. Knowledge in Construction Administration, Building Systems and Commercial Construction. Ability to coordinate consultants’ requirements and specifications, produce technical drawings and organize sets of construction plans.
Owner representative for commercial projects to manage construction, review conformance with contract documents, schedules and quality of work.

I completed my Master of Architecture degree at the University of Southern California, and was able to study with some of the best theorists and practitioners from Los Angeles and around the world.

Early in my career I developed an in depth- understanding of the systems and materials of the built world. Projects varied widely, including a County fire station, a post office annex, schools, and a U.S. Air Force fighter jet paint booth. I gained extensive experience in bidding, estimating, schedules, shop drawings, as -builds, and close-outs while working for a General Contractor.

Few years later, I was working with an AIA Gold Medal firm in S an Antonio, Texas, I coordinated more than ten elementary school projects for local school district. This experience gave me a thorough understanding of the design process, production, and project administration, including RFI and ASI, submittals and preparation of product specifications, civil and structural engineering coordination, and mechanical and electrical physical requirements.

My strengths in coordinating projects, as well as preparing comprehensive analyses and developing critical solutions for construction and scheduling, led me to Mexico to lead a multi million dollar development for a state government in Mexico . The projects I was engaged with included an 1800 seat open auditorium, a 20,0 00 sf library, a 40,000 sf Olympic sports facility, two city theaters, a museum, and a three story office building, all successfully completed.

In 2009 I was invited to coordinate residential projects for a NY developer in The Los Angeles area and since then I have been participating with developers and other architects in collaboration on several projects locally.

You may be assured that I am a dedicated and passionate designer who is ready to initiate a project in a professional manner with objectives and deadlines in place from the project outset.

Sincerely,

Alfonso Duran Jr. AIA
