About

I HAVE TWO YEARS OF PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE WORKING FOR TWO MEDIUM SIZED [SIX EMPLOYEES], WELL ESTABLISHED [RECENT PUBLICATION IN THE NEW YORK TIMES: HTTP://CITYROOM.BLOGS.NYTIMES.COM/2012/09/28/GAY-CENTER-TO-MAKE-ITS-VILLAGE-HOME-MORE-OPEN-AND-LESS-NOISY/] ARCHITECTURE FIRMS, RSVP ARCHUTECTURE STUDIO AND N-PLUS DESIGN STUDIO. THEY ARE BOTH HOUSED IN THE SAME STUDIO AND OFTEN WORK IN CONJUNCTION WITH EACH OTHER. THEY BOTH WORK PRIMARILY ON LOCAL [FIVE BOROUGHS] RESIDENTIAL AND SMALLER COMMERCIAL PROJECTS, HOWEVER, I HAVE BEEN WORKING AS A THIRD MAN ON AN EIGHT MILLION DOLLAR, ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY THOUSAND SQUARE FOOT COMMUNITY CENTER IN CHELSEA, MANHATTAN CALLED THE “LGBT CENTER” THAT IS ABOUT TO BEGIN CONSTRUCTION [PROJECT SHOWN IN PUBLICATION LINK ABOVE]. ANOTHER PROJECT THAT I HAVE WORKED INTENSELY ON IS FIVE STORY + CELLAR RESIDENTIAL BROWNSTONE IN RED HOOK, BROOKLYN. I HAVE ALSO BEEN WORKING WITH OUR HEAD OF INTERIORS, JESSICA KEENAN, ON THE BATHROOM AND KITCHEN INTERIORS AND SPECIFYING PRODUCTS AND FINISHES ON A TWENTY-THREE UNIT, FIVE-STORY, TWENTY THOUSAND RESIDENTIAL PROJECT IN MANHATTAN. THESE AMONG OTHER PROJECTS HAVE BEEN VERY ADVANTAGEOUS FOR MY PROFESSIONAL CAREER AND I AM LOOKING TO BRING THESE VAST AND EXTREAMLY DIVERSE SKILLS THAT I HAVE FROM THESE SMALLER SCALE PROJECTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT TO A LARGER FIRM.

I AM A QUICK STUDY, PRACTICED AT PRODUCING QUALITY AND ACCURACY ON A DEMANDING SCHEDULE. I HAD NEVER USED RHINO WHEN I FIRST ARRIVED AT RSVP/N-PLUS, WITHIN TWO WEEKS I WAS PRODUCING FULL MODELS FOR DESIGN MEETINGS AND AM NOW THE SECOND MOST PROFICIENT 3D MODELER IN THE STUDIO. RSVP AND N-PLUS OFTEN SEND OUR MODELS TO A THIRD PARTY RENDERER FOR FINAL PRODUCT RENDERS, HOWEVER, I HAVE BECOME PROFICIENT ENOUGH AT RENDERING THAT WE HAVE BEEN USING MY RENDERS FOR DESIGN MEETINGS WITH CLIENTS. MY SKILL LEVEL IN OTHER PROGRAMS SUCH AS AUTOCAD, ADOBE SUITE AND EXCEL HAVE GROWN EXPONENTIALLY AS WELL FROM NECESSITY BROUGHT ON BY THE PACE OF PROJECTS AT RSVP AND N-PLUS. I HAVE ALSO FOUND THAT I THRIVE WHEN WORKING IN A TEAM ENVIRONMENT AND BECAUSE OF THE PROXIMITY OF RSVP AND N-PLUS, I AM OFTEN WORKING WITH AT LEAST TWO OTHER PEOPLE ON ANY GIVEN PROJECT.

RSVP AND N-PLUS EACH HAVE A LARGE QUANTITY OF ACTIVE PROJECTS ALL OF THE TIME. THIS DEMANDS THAT I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR TWO, THREE AND SOMETIMES FOUR DIFFERENT TYPES OF DEADLINES AT ANY GIVEN TIME. BECAUSE OF THE VOLUME OF PROJECTS THAT RSVP AND N-PLUS HAVE, IT IS REQUIRED THAT ALL OF THE PROJECTS BE EXTREMELY FAST-PACED, ESCALATING TO FEVERISH SPEEDS AT TIMES. IN THE BEGINNING OF MY CAREER I FOUND THIS A BIT DAUNTING, HOWEVER, NOW I FIND THAT I CAN NOT ONLY HANDLE, BUT FLOURISH UNDER THE HIGH PACE AND PRESSURE THAT IS REQUIRED IN OUR FIELD. THIS ABILITY TO THRIVE AND SUCCEED UNDER INTENSE PRESSURE AND MINOR CHAOS OF A SMALLER FIRM WILL ONLY BE MAGNIFIED WORKING FOR A LARGER, MORE ORGANIZED FIRM.

I KNOW THAT I WILL BE ABLE TO BRING SPEED AND PROFICIENCY AND BE A GREAT ASSET FOR MY NEXT EMPLOYER.
