About

I am a Senior Architect (registered in NY State) and have over 25 plus years of experience in the design build industry. In addition to be a registered architect, I have a very extensive experience in construction.  I have worked for various design/construction and subcontractor’s firms both large and small both here in the  NY metro area (18 yrs) as well as other places. During this time I have gained extensive experience with the building environment especially with the complex codes and regulations.

I have a Bachelor of Architecture (5 yr.) degree from New York Institute of Technology as well as completed two apprenticeships in drafting and masonry in Germany. Having started my career as a drafting and then as a mason apprentice in Germany, I learned the valuable skills and the importance of process and procedures for all aspects of a project and have used and applied those skills throughout my career.

Over the duration of my career I have worked closely with clients, governing agencies, contractors and designers on every aspect of a project from start to finish. Projects range from residential, commercial, educational, healthcare and municipal/public works.

I have developed work plans, schedules, budgets, lead coordination efforts with all team members.  Worked with getting through the NYC DOB (other) permitting and approval process.  Strong understanding of local, state as well as other codes and regulations.

My latest project involved being the leader for a team of designers for the development and technical coordination of design documents for a Design/Build project of a 1000+ bed COVID-19 Temporary Tent Acute Care Facility at the College of SUNY Old Westbury, NY that was constructed within 23 days from the date of contract start.  This project has defined the importance of schedule, coordination and budget control under a very stressful environment.

Projects that I have worked on vary in size and scope as small as single room fit outs to multi-billion-dollar programs.

Some of my various responsibilities and skills include:

•  Project leader for all phases of design and construction.

• Strong understanding of the all codes including local, state and federal.  Areas specific to NYC DOB, FDNY, LPC, DOP, DEP, DOT, ADAAG, NFPA including their application and permitting process. I am registered with the NYC DOB as a professional, RA, for filing.

 •  Manage the design and construction process in a team environment.

 •  Document, manage, and coordinate information between teams, clients, consultants, and sub-contractors.

 •  Provide quality assessment and control of installed work.

 •  Develop and review proposals/budgets/schedules for all aspects and phases of projects.
