Elias El Soueidi

Beirut, LB

Aiming to motivate myself towards a better culture in Architecture Design and the construction domain, I was selected at the École Spéciale d’Architecture in Paris, France to be part of their exchange students program. An opportunity that led me to participate in Peter Cook’s Studio as well as other international workshops and seminars. Living alone in a foreign country and in the French capital exposed me to the necessity of confronting challenges outside my comfort zone thereby teaching me how to rely on myself, stay organized, interact and communicate effectively and ethically with people of different cultural and ethnic backgrounds, which developed my cultural awareness and broadened my social horizons.

In the goal of becoming a better new born architect, I was selected to participate in an international workshop in Damour, Lebanon, managed by the Institut d’Urbanisme de Grenoble (IUG), working closer with Muriel Pages, Marcus Zepf and other architects and urban planners. The AA visiting school Dubai welcomed me on its team to take part of a research program in emergent material technologies and parametric design, allowing me to collaborate with architects coming from all around the world having worked at renowned international offices like Zaha Hadid Architects, SOM architects, Lava Architects and Kamvari Architects.
