About 

Nicolas Lee is a Chinese-Canadian designer and the founder of Other Projects. He holds a Master of Architecture from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design (2015), and a Bachelor of Architecture from Syracuse University (2012). He was a nominee of the James Templeton Kelley Prize, a finalist in Azure Magazine's AZ Awards, and a recipient of the JCHS Outstanding Housing Design Prize and ASLA Student Honor Award at Harvard; and received the Dean's Citation of Excellence in Thesis Design and Chancellor's Scholarship at Syracuse. Throughout his education, Nicolas has trained under Pritzker Prize Laureates Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron (Herzog & de Meuron), Nathalie de Vries (MVRDV), Christopher C.M Lee (Serie) and Joshua Prince-Ramus (REX). Nicolas has been a guest critic at Harvard, Columbia, Academy of Arts University San Francisco, Kentucky and Pratt. Nicolas also serves as a Sert Council Associate at Harvard GSD and on the Benefit Committee at the Van Alen Institute. 

Nicolas’ independent work has received several awards, including 1st Prize in Chicago Architecture Foundation CADE Competition, Winner of Moran Folly 2016, Runner-up in Europan 12, Jury's List in the Next Helsinki Competition and Finalist in Van Alen Institute's "Disrupt" Competition. His work has been published and exhibited internationally, including Azure, Landscape Architecture Magazine, Wallpaper, and at the inaugural Chicago Architecture Biennial, Cité de l'architecture & du Patrimoine Paris, Forum d’architectures de Lausanne, Moran Museum of Art Seoul, USC American Academy in China and Design Miami.  

Nicolas’ work experience includes OMA and MVRDV in Rotterdam, REX and HWKN in New York, MIT Design Lab in Cambridge and ALKF+ in Hong Kong.
