Michelle Kay Greer

Louisville, KY, US. Lexington, KY, US.

Hello there! My name is Michelle Greer and I am an architectural and visual designer with a Bachelors of Architecture degree, from the NAAB accredited program at the University of Kentucky. After my graduation in December 2015, I returned to my hometown Louisville, KY to gain more experience and financial support to move back to my current place of residence in Orlando, Florida.

While at Architectural Artisans I worked alongside two Architects and an intern on projects including interior and exterior renovations of offices, private residences, restaurants, and a country club. Given that the team was small in size, I was allotted several responsibilities including participating in and taking notation of client and public meetings, taking the measurements of existing buildings/sites, coordination with the contractor, hand-rendered sketches, drafting in AutoCAD, 3-D modeling in Sketchup and Rhino, and finalizing the construction and presentation documentation with Adobe Suite.

After my spring internship was completed in Louisville, I moved back down to Orlando, Florida for a second term in the Disney College Fall 2016 program and plan to stay here to obtain a future professional internship and career as an Architect. Currently, for the Fall 2016 program, I have been cast for the Bell Services Dispatcher and Greeter role at the Deluxe Wilderness Lodge Resort and Villas. As a Dispatcher, I work in a fast-paced environment in which I ensure that the guests luggage is delivered with great service, on time as they check-in and out of the resort.  When I receive the information from the guest, airlines, or Disney's Magical Express, I then organize and assign the work orders with the computerized dispatch system to my team of bellman to complete.  As my program continues this season, I have found that this role has enhanced my project management skills because of the great responsibility that I have to lead and organize my team of bellman. In addition to that, it has also taught me about the importance of the relationship between the guests and cast members and the fluid juxtaposition of both the onstage and backstage environments of the resorts.

In addition to that, I have also been an architectural intern at Studio GANG Architects, for the UK Practice Preview Program Spring 2015, and an intern for the Disney College Fall 2013 Program at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe and the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. During that program I successfully completed the Creativity & Innovations course and the Professional Development: Engineering Series.

Aside from architecture, I love animated movies, sketching, design, travel, and am learning to become fluent in Spanish and French.  After my internships I have found that one must be able to multi-task, be punctual, detail oriented, and able to work with many other minds to have that idea become a reality. Therefore, I am absolutely eager to learn anything and everything that I can about this industry!

I urge you to consider me for any professional internship positions available! I can be contacted via e-mail at or by phone at (502)974-8935. Thank you so much for your time and consideration. I look forward to speaking with you soon!

After being accepted into this extremely competitive position in the Disney College Program, I learned everything that I could about this company. In addition to servicing the Disney Guests on-site at the Magic Kingdom Cosmic Ray's Startlight Cafe and the Epcot Food & Wine Festival, I was a student. I enrolled in several Disney College courses and had the opportunity to shadow the best Engineers and Architects in the company. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience and I hope to continue a glimmer of their dream in my future work as an Architect as well.
