About

Jordan is Principal of Circular, an award-winning multidisciplinary practice founded in 1997 that combines sustainable and equitable architecture, research and experience design. Each project sensitively engages with its  architectural surroundings and the environment to project beauty, inspire wonder and create an enhanced sense of place.

Originally founded as Jordan Parnass Digital Architecture (JPDA) Circular has been at the forefront of research and design into innovative typologies for high performance Passive House buildings, receiving the PHI Pioneer Certificate and the AIA Brooklyn Building of the Year Design Award for an industrial retrofit project in Sri Lanka, and designing the RSPCA’s modular Animal Centres of the Future prototype in the UK.

Parnass’ projects have received recognition and awards from AIA National, AIANY, NYCxDesign, Architizer, Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, the Passive House Institute and others. Circular currently has appointments with New York City’s Department of Design and Construction in the Design Excellence Program
and New York City School Construction Authority’s Capacity Program and is the US design agency for BMW of North America.

Public exhibitions of the firm’s experimental work include numerous art installations and collaborative projects featured in commissions for NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, Creative Time, No Longer Empty and Art in General among others.

Parnass received degrees in Art & Semiotics from Brown University, attended the Architectural Association and holds a Master of Architecture from Columbia University. Parnass is a Certified Passive House Designer (CPHD), LEED accredited professional (LEED AP) and a member of both the American
