About 

I am a bilingual (Mandarin and English) designer who is passionate about good design. I am a self-starter and a great team worker who takes work seriously but also have a great sense of humor. I am very organized and punctual about meeting deadlines. I'm a conceptual and analytical thinker who has both strong hand drawing skills and computer skills. I can manipulate between design tools well to achieve design goals. I am a fast learner and passionate worker, and I am motivated to develop my skills and expand my creativity in the field of interior design to fit the needs of the growing industry. 

About my design

Having lived in both China and America, my design reflects order, sequence and symmetry that are emphasized by ancient Chinese architecture, and expressive use of structure and abstract form in Western design. However, I never limit the potential and possibility that anything I encounter in life can become a design inspiration whether it is as broad as elements in nature, or as specific as a design component in a precedent study. I am constantly searching for design opportunities and strives to combine my knowledge of both cultures and find its balance in my design to achieve the ultimate goal of creating distinctive spaces that provide the best user experience.

Project manager/senior designer of three hospitality projects for three Chinese projects: Wenchang Hilton Extension, Meisheng Xianglake 100 sales center. QishuiBay Club House. Among these, Meisheng xianglake sales center was completed in 5 months from concept design to opening.

In charged of coordinating communication between client, contractors and team members.
In charged of executing design for 80% of the projects.
In charged of overseeing design quality and on-site construction effort.
Approved design specifications and develop purchase justifications for materials.

HBA, Hirsch Bedner Associates, Santa Monica, CA, US, Intermediate Designer

One of the main designers for JW Marriott Doha. Assisted in 3 major phases of the project. Collaboratively designed 70% of the space. (July 2014-Sept 2016)
One of the Main designers for Wenchang Hilton, Hainan China. Executed design for 80% of the space under supervision. Assisted in CD and specification packages. ( Aug 2013- Apirl 2015)
Hotel opened in 2015, lobby design was finalist in Boutique Design's Gold Key Awards for the Best Upscale Lobby.

Assisted with project management; coordinated and oversaw design installations. Assisted with development of client presentations, schemes and budgets. Created quotes and executed purchase orders exceed 6 figures overall.
Created specifications for 8 residential design projects.
Maintained efficient functioning of office via administrative managerial tasks.

Developed concept and worked on initial space planning for Courtyard by Marriott, an ongoing project in China. Created program analysis presentations for clients and reached exceeded their satisfaction.

Generated construction documents and FFE schedules, using Auto CAD for this high-end residential Interior Design company. Assisted the designer in sourcing materials and finishes. Communicated with vendors regarding the ordering process and improved client relationships.

Responsible for establishing the school with Lily Zhang. Managed the school operations including coordinating teacher and class schedules developing curriculum as well as policies and procedures. Oversaw the classroom layout and all graphic design work such as website, business card, logo. Taught drawing and painting to 5-10 year old students.
