Long Grove, IL, US

Licensed architect in the State of Illinois.

Since graduating from the University of Kansas in 2006, I have worked on a wide variety of project types; commercial, retail, residential, restaurant, industrial, and a large scale athletic complex. Being an integral part of small to mid size firms allowed me to gain a vast base of knowledge throughout all facets of the architectural process; from programming space requirements for 20,000 square feet of office space to on-the-fly detailing with contractors during construction administration.

While working with Brand Managers and the CEO of Lettuce Entertain You (holding corporation for over 80 restaurants) to create efficient designs to match specific brand identities I was able to develop my project management skills at a very early point in my career. As part of my duties on these projects and others, I have been responsible for obtaining permits within Chicago and the surrounding suburbs, handling the Bid Process on a variety of construction types, and dealing directly with contractors in a construction administration capacity.

My work experience has allowed me to use Revit as my primary design tool since 2006.  This led me to develop a Revit implementation plan and training tools for the employees of my current firm and direct a change-over to BIM processes and standards.  As part of this process, project templates, custom Revit families and client specific functions have been designed for the firm.

Interwork Architects, Architect - BIM Specialist

As a Revit / BIM specialist, I serve as both Project Architect and Staff Architect at
Interwork. Projects and clients have included a 10,000 square foot medical office
tenant space and ongoing modification/ implementation of standards and corporate
branding for NorthShore University HealthSystem; a 35,000 square foot new car
dealership for DuPage Dodge Chrysler Jeep; and renovation of headquarters lab space
as well as implementation of BIM standards for Anixter. I am also responsible for
services to building management on over 1,000,000 square feet of tenant space.
I have also directed Interwork’s firm wide migration to REVIT, developed BIM
standards, templates, work practices and training. I am also continually investigating new technologies for Interwork including implementation of a private cloud, iApps and
social networking.

Working mainly on an Olympic style complex of athletic facilities in Constanta, Romania in a small office environment allowed me to hone my Revit skills at yet another level and work on a large scale project. I was charged the task of designing seating layouts, exiting and restrooms for all buildings in the complex as well as aiding in the design and modelling of the complex in Revit.
