About

Hi!

I am Tanu Mundra, an industrial designer by way of architecture.
My work spans various scales from spatial to visual, focussed on tangible products.

As a designer, I draw from my cultural context with work rooted in tactility and craft while exploring contemporary methods of construction.
Stylistically, the visual grammar is a nod to my continued preoccupation with architecture, manifesting in strong geometric forms which is slowly evolving into amorphic expression as I move towards product design.
My process is iterative, reaching into the plurality of cultural diversity I have experienced in my journey thus far.

At the core, I like to design for urban living and making it enjoyable. For me that could mean an everyday kitchen tool or a swanky neighbourhood bar.

Life and levity are a recurring theme in my work with a thoughtful use of colour.

Working on an intersectional brief excites me the most for it allows a layered and nuanced approach.
I often find inspiration in the visual culture of a city and immersive experiences that engage all senses.
Broadly, I strive for creating work that is equal parts poetic and precise.
