BPS Architects, Rajkot, IN, Project Architect
Working as a project architect increased my confidence to supervise work on site and gained hands-on experience with the construction workers. It also helped in developing leadership qualities within me by handling studio responsibilities and leading a team of 2-3 trainees for a couple of short-term projects. Assisted in developing design concepts, produced presentation drawings and construction drawings for the projects. Within two-year tenure, I also conducted meetings with clients as well as contractors and other agencies involved in the construction.
Oxford Brookes University, Oxford, GB, Masters, International Architectural Regeneration and Development
Passion for local materials and craftsmanship inspired me to pursue an MA in International Architectural Regeneration and Development from Oxford Brookes University. One year abroad in Oxford, England and travelling around Europe helped me in understanding different cultures and traditions in society and its importance whilst comprehending the requirements of the clients. Amalgamating culture, tradition and local materials with architecture will result in a sensitive approach towards design, will preserve the history and create a healthy living environment.
Also, the use of vernacular materials will reduce the waste created by industrial materials, thus, creating a sustainable living environment for us as well as for the future generations to come.
