Timothee Mercier

London, GB

I am an architect by training and just spent a year in award winning architecture firm Walker Workshop in L.A, California. I chose a small practice from the onset to be involved in as many aspects of a project as possible - from designing for developers who had resale in mind to dealing with the intricacies of moving a family in to their new home. Working in a relatively new architecture firm also meant that I had to have a good idea of how to deal with a budget and promote a young and often malleable brand. This gave me the opportunity to deal with clients on a personal level and advance my writing and presentation skills. Not to mention the flexibility and organization required to work on multiple projects at once. I strongly believe that my experience in the past year has adequately trained me for dealing with project budgets and team management.

Originally from France I have lived in London for more than 10 years as well as Hong Kong, Geneva, Philadelphia and Los Angeles. Diversity is not necessarily a golden ticket but I am confident in my ability to listen, analyze and empathize with clients - no matter their background or direction. I am also super curious, enthusiastic and hard working!

I also love surfing, basketball, reading and drawing!

Voith & Mactavish Architects LLP, Philadelphia, PA, US, Intern

My work as an intern consisted mainly in re-designing parts of the website, creating presentation brochures for projects and redrawing a good part of the college campus site plans that the firm was or had worked on in the past year.

Haverford College, Haverford, PA, US, Bachelors, Growth & Structure of Cities

My educational background is quite diverse but I spent the later part of it in the US. I attended Haverford College in Pennsylvania, a leading liberal arts college that consistently ranks amongst the top 10 American colleges every year and across rankings. The department that I majored in, Growth and Structure of Cities, had an array of debate based classes outside of the traditional studio format that gave me skills that I find invaluable today and that I am sure would be an asset to your company.
