In addition to a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Seoul, he received a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania 2015. These challenging programs have provided him with excellent foundational knowledge in the principles of architectural design and construction. Further, practical internship and assistant roles have refined his skills in drafting, drawing, modeling, and diagramming using both traditional and digital techniques using a variety of programs. He did diligent support of diverse projects from initial planning stage through to completion and presentation of outcomes.
University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, US, Research Assistant
With University’s School of Design and under direction of Prof. Simon Kim, support collaborative research and design projects with focus on architecture beyond spaces.
Project include:
- ‘Roly-Poly:’ With Temple University’s Andrew John and fellow student researchers, constructed physical models using carbon fiber. Designed pattern diagrams; planned and executed pattern testing.
- ‘QUORI:’ Working in University of Pennsylvania’s Modlab and in coordination with University of California’s The Interaction Lab, assisted in layout of QUIRI.org and digital modeling of humanoid robot.
KYWC Architects, Seoul, Architectural Intern
Applied knowledge gained from undergraduate degree while contributing to various research and design projects within established architecture firm.
Projects included:
- Lotte Buyeo Condominium: Assisted in compilation and review of competition submissions. Developed research diagrams, and created physical models using various materials (wood, acrylic, plastic, museum board).
- Libya Culture & Housing Research: Conducted extensive research on residential housing types and respective cultural influences within Libya to support global work.
