Responsible for significant aspects of projects in role as project designer for a small but robust designbuild firm. Contributed to the design and renovation of multiple projects, such as 1731 Kalorama, 1829 Kalorama, and 1363 Peabody Street. On 1731 Kalorama, helped design the building to fit in with the
historical-looking neighborhood but also retain its own personality as a modern building. Also ensured the building complied with local building and zoning codes as well as the international building code.
Coordinated consultant drawings with architectural drawings. Prepared construction drawings and assisted with contract administration on site. Did design for 1829 Kalorama renovation. Designed the 1363 Peabody Street building to take better advantage of its space. As a project designer, worked on 2610 30th Street—a five-bedroom modern house—3029 O Street, and 5500 Georgia Avenue projects. On 3029 O Street, rearranged the building to make better use of space and updated the design to be more modern. On 5500 Georgia Avenue, creating a 49-unit apartment modern-looking building in a historical neighborhood and designing it so that it agrees with its surroundings while still remaining modern.

Part of the design team for office building renovation on Fair Oaks in Pasadena; designed the interior of the building by developing a single language for the entire interior and by creating a color palette to organize building spaces. Worked with others to design senior housing in South Pasadena, emphasizing
the creation of cozy spaces that shared the same design aesthetic of the neighborhood. Part of the Huntington Park High School design group making constructional details; worked on wall sections and mostly constructional document drawings, while also ensuring some of the furnishings complied with
LAUSD codes. On the design team for Franklin elementary school, which involved the development of schemes that are compatible with available space in hazardous zones; also created drawings for the new HVAC system in an existing school building. At the firm, also worked with city planning department for the design of parking at Montebello project.
MHA (Michael Hong Architects), Culver City, CA, US, Architectural Designer
Did design work on a number of large projects, such as an extension of the Wynn hotel in Vegas; the Anabella hotel in Anaheim; and Le Jardin d'Eau Riyadh in Saudi Arabi, a very large project that included shopping centers, hotels, and apartment complexes. In particular, on the Le Jardin d'Eau Riyadh, worked on apartment buildings, parts of a mall, and the porte cochère for the main hotel. Made 3D models of various projects, then drew plans and made section and elevation drawings. For the Anabella hotel, created 3D model of buildings in Rhino, and made DD documents, color elevation and color material
files. Among other programs, worked in Rhino to make 3D models, and also utilized AutoCAD and Bluebeam. For the Wynn hotel, worked on DD document, and on color materials, elevations, and tag files. The firm focused on highly detailed projects, where sustainability was just as important as beauty.
Utilized AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop extensively, and obtained much experience creating high-quality 3D models in Rhino in short periods of time.

Designed mixed-use buildings in Santa Monica. Involved in the schematic design of 1325 6th St., 601 Colorado & 501 Broadway projects, and design development and constructional documents of 1415 5th St. project. Designed facades based on the sun’s path using an algorithm in Grasshopper. Did unit planning, including interior design work, ensuring spaces were refined and in compliance with Los Angeles Building Codes. Did wall specifications, doing opening calculations by code. Did section details, elevations with material selection, drawings, renderings. Touched up renderings, often utilizing Photoshop. Learned Los Angeles & Santa Monica Codes for kitchens, bathrooms, parking areas, balconies, openings, egresses, pools, and more. Utilized multiple programs on a regular basis, such as ARCHICAD19, Rhino 3D, Grasshopper, Maxwell Render, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop.

Part of the design team for the 758 Sunset Ave., Venice, CA 90291 Small-Lot Subdivision project. Designed residence kitchens and bathrooms. Created kitchen cabinet layouts in Rhino and rendered interiors with V-ray and Rhino render. Also did touch-up work on renderings in Photoshop so that they were more realistic. Drew and fixed plans in AutoCAD, and made the door and window schedule.

Fabricated digital files and helped with physical model.
