About 

Travis Kyle Miller is a recently graduate graduate architecture student from Ball State University located in Muncie, Indiana.  Currently, his ambitions is to acquire a full-time, entry-level architecture position.  Travis' lifelong objective is to work in an architecture and/or engineering firm on long-term projects specializing in healthcare and educational facilities; blending the design spectrums across all design fields, while designing progressive buildings for society.
 

Travis Kyle Miller is also a member of the United States Army Reserve as a Human Resources Specialists (42A) stationed out of Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indianapolis, Indiana.  Travis hopes to become an Officer in the Army Reserves to serve his country, while practicing architecture full-time.  Currently, Travis is at Fort Jackson, South Carolina finishing some initial job training for his HR Specialists position.  In the future, Travis hopes to utilize his skills and knowledge from training to better assist in the ideas of building design, site layouts, and training facilities for the branches of the United States Military.

 

Travis Kyle Miller is a very energetic person who loves to learn new skills and ideas everyday.  He is a very skilled and knowledgeable individual who can function well as a team player or as an individual.  Travis loves to help fellow employees with ideas, troubleshooting programs, and on any and every project.  Travis Kyle Miller is an outstanding person to have on any project team or within any architecture or engineering firm.

US Army Reserve, Indianapolis, IN, US, Human Resource Specialists (42A MOS)

I am currently enlisted as a Specialists, E-4 in the United States Army Reserve. My current duty station is located at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianaplis, Indiana. This is a partial commitmentto the United States Army per terms of my enlistment. Also, I currently have ambitions to become an officer, in the near future.

My current duties include processing forms for discharging, updating Soldier Group Life Insurence and their Department of Defense Forms. This position can benefit me in the architecture field in pursuing a civilian clearance for government and military building projects.

I helped to teach, critique, provide tutorials, and troubleshoot Architecture 263, a design and technology course in the Fall.

In the Spring, I assisted a fellowship professor in his research project that utilized a CNC router in designing frames for project boards and testing the limitations of our 3-axis CNC router.

Ball State University - Housing and Residence Life, Muncie, IN, US, Resident Assistant

In this position I was an authority figure and advisor in the halls of Dehority Complex and Noyer Complex at Ball State Universtiy. I would help advise students, pull evening duty shifts, fill out incident reports, hold student programs, and work the front reception desk each week. I was also required to fill out student data sheets and I was in charge of the overall moral, welfare, and being of the hall. I also was responsible in cleaning any accidents and attending weekly planning meetings with my fellow resident assistants and Hall Directors.

Education

I studied undergraduate and graduate level architecture at Ball State University where I studied under outstanding professors, worked with digital fabrication equipment, and entered several competitions as a student. My thesis was on the creation of a student driven learning facility programatically developed around the blending of nature and education in a K-6 learning environment. The students ideally would spend an equal amout of time indoors as well as outdoor working on immersive learning projects to master the current education curriculum.

List of Fabrication Technology used: Laser Cutters, 3-Axis CNC router, Makerbot, U-Print, Desktop Milling Machine, Plotters, and Z-Corp 3-D Printers.

List of Computer Programs Used: Autocad, Revit, BIM, Rhino, Sketchup, Grasshopper, Adobe Design Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and Mastercam.

I received half tuition from Ball State University for maintaining outstanding grades and leadership roles throughout the course of my undergraduate career.

A $20,000 scholarship for collegiate studies I won for my hard work, determination, and outstanding grades upon graduation from Our Lady of Providence High School in Clarksville, Indiana.

Eagle Scout - Boy Scouts of America, Other

I obtained my Eagle Scout award in 2005 shortly after returning from the 2005 World Scout Jamboree in England. My project was in the purchasing of 50 bicycles, the assembly of four picnic tables, a swing set and a gas grill for the Providence House of Children in Georgetown, Indiana. This facility is a group home for foster children, some whom attended my school.

I have held every leadership position as a youth at the troop lever, I currently hold 57 Merit Badges (21 required for Eagle), I have received two Scout of the Year awards, 2005 and 2007, and I am a member of the Order of the Arrow, the Boy Scouts of America service organization.
