About

Due to my background and the skills I have developed during studies at the Politecnico di Milano (Italy) and afterwards in professional settings in Italian architecture studios, I am able to confront challenges both technical and aesthetic in nature. I am comfortable with the elaboration of architectural language on a manual level (with models and paper drawings) as well as in digital format (2D and 3D graphic design programs and rendering, which have become essential representational tools)— skills that enhance my value as a candidate.

I am interested in all branches of architecture, “from the littlest spoon to the biggest city”, as Ernesto Natan Rogers said at the XIII conference of ICSID (International Council of Societies of Industrial Design). He meant that architecture and planning of a complex object from an urban zone to a simple everyday object are not analytically and synthetically different since planning requires methodology and consistent reasoning that is at the base of every aspect of the process and that will apply to content and form only in a later phases. My methodological approach is quite similar: throughout the years, I have developed a logical and, at times, philological method that allows me to recognize architectonic forms, translate them into figurative language and respond coherently to the demands of a project at every scale.

My competencies include a strong tie to sustainable architecture: I am versed in the conception of a project from its first sketches to design details, and to make the architectonic object work harmonically and symbiotically with its environment both from a landscape and energy point of view. I am aware of the current state of available energy resources and technology for alternative supplies; I know how to choose the best alternative according to a project’s location, to treat  materials and understand their best use according to the requests and the context.

Restoration, interior design and landscape architecture are additional areas in which I am versed thanks to previous professional experience. I enjoy dealing with these subjects and, due to continual study, have internalized a wide range of visual references that aid in the formulation of all kinds of design solutions.

I consider myself to be a dynamic and enthusiastic person. I am particularly inclined to analysis of planning problems, of which I am capable of synthesizing and understanding intricately with solutions tied to both context and form. I prefer rationalism and logical patterns shaping the structure, and believe that the final synthesis of the project should transmit a simplicity that nevertheless contains all of the complexity of the various planning phases. I love art in all its forms, and look to it as a continual source of inspiration and research.

One of the personal characteristics that I find most positive is my capacity for learning new information, skills and methods— this is something that has helped me to quickly and efficiently learn new programs, technology, legislative devices and regulations.

During work on my Master’s thesis, which was partially carried out in Istanbul, I had the opportunity to be immersed in diverse settings and draw inspiration from the differences I found. As a result, I am familiar working with people from a wide variety of social and cultural backgrounds and derive many benefits from such contact on a professional and human level. I believe that multi-ethnic and multicultural environments contribute richness and variety. I greatly enjoy working in groups but I also work comfortably autonomously.

I am looking for new architectural experiences that will allow me to deepen my knowledge and dexterity with representative technologies: programs such as REVIT, 3DS MAX, CINEMA 4D, RYHNO, etc. I would like to find a dynamic studio where research into sustainable energy of buildings is of primary importance, as well as research into new architectonic solutions and aesthetic and formalistic experimentation.

I include this letter with a little piece of a poem that means a lot to me and perfectly fits my attitude towards the creative part of my job:

"I believe in the power of imagination to remake the world, to release the truth within us, to hold back the night, to trascend death, to charm motorways [..]" J.G.Ballard
