Commercial real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield led the consortium that won first prize in the recently concluded Park Russia competition. The international consortium included Buro Happold, Populous, and Gillespies -- who led the masterplanning design team.
The Russia Geographic Society and Moscow Region Government hosted the contest to find the most suitable architectural design and financial models for the "Russia"-themed 1,600 ha. Park in the Moscow region.

Gershwin Plot 14 by Dutch firm NL Architects is an eye-catching project to start off the week. The proposal was the winning entry of a 2012 competition to design a new large residential building in Amsterdam. Unfortunately, the project was abruptly cancelled in 2013. With the help of young UK architects, London housing association Peabody is already looking to the future of social housing with their "Small Projects Panel" competition launched this past November.
Peabody recently announced 20 shortlisted proposals that have advanced to the last stage. Each team will be interviewed before the jury picks 6-8 firms by the end of January. The winning firms will help Peabody develop new housing schemes that have a maximum of 20 homes.

Architects Bence Pap and Mario Gasser from Studio Lynn/University of Applied Arts IoA sent us their entry for the Austrian Pavilion competition for the 2015 Milan Expo.
Pap and Gasser's collaborative proposal won 4th prize in the international, two-stage open competition.

In the ongoing discussion of the future of the architectural profession, New Generations has announced the Rotterdam-based firm Killing Architects as the winner of their first competition.
All architects and creatives under 40 were invited to submit short films that show innovative forms of architectural practice and their own interpretation of the shifting role of the architect -- in both a construction industry and societal context.

After submitting "En Pointe" to the Europan 12 Austria competition, The Open Workshop + Lorena Del Rio Architects team placed as a Runner-Up in a three-way tie for the Kagran site (In other words, a "Winner" title wasn't given.)
"En Pointe" uses the arcade concept and hybrid, multi-functional spaces to improve Kagran's connectivity and potentially enhance the city at an architectural and urban level.

As one of two runner-ups, "COMPLETE SCHIEDAM" by Team BASIC CITY A+U / Felixx was designed to connect the historic core and industrial zones of Schiedam, reinventing the city's identity over time.

Shanghai-based architects Ramon Bernabe Simo and Tomas Labanc collaborated to create "OPEN", the winning entry for the Amstetten site in the Europan 12 Austria competition.
As suggested by its name, their team's proposal is a response to improve connectivity, livability, and "opening up" the city to leave room for potential urban expansion.

Results were recently revealed for Homemade Dessert and Liepaja City Council's 'Brutalist Facelift' and 'Ghost Town Challenge' — two related competitions in a series to revive the cityscape of Karosta, a former Soviet military town outside of Liepaja, Latvia.
Each jury selected three winners — who won prize money and media attention — for each competition.

Berg | C.F. Møller and DinellJohansson recently won the competition to design a future residential landmark for Stockholm. Hosted by Swedish real estate group HSB, three competing teams were required to propose three innovative residential buildings for three central locations in the city. Bramberger [architects] from Graz, Austria had the winning scheme to design the High Tech Campus in Villach, Austria.
Bramberger's clear-cut scheme integrates office and educational facilities with green space that will eventually connect with surrounding buildings to create a fully functioning campus.
