Might I suggest these topics for perusal over toast and coffee on this chilly Sunday morning....
In the features:
The Architecture Talent Search: Hints & Suggestions from Job Seekers is the second installment in a series designed to 'chinect architecture employers with talent.
....how about some bacon....
In the news:
Lots of "new(s)" here this week. First off, everyone is still very excited about SANAA's new New Museum of Contemporary Art, including Ouroussoff, Curbed, and fans of Jeffrey Inaba. Also in New York, the new New York Times building gets another review, we learn about how infrastructure is being outsourced, the Wall Street Journal writes about "when buildings stop making sense", and the engineer behind SOM's superstructures is profiled in Wired.
Moving westward, Nature.com takes on Gehry vs. MIT, the Sierra Club releases its list of the top 10 most "green-friendly" campuses in the US, and they are really Doing! stuff at Ball State.
Meanwhile, on the left coast, the Seattle Stranger discusses gingerbread structures as architecture, then readers throw stones at San Francisco's glass towers, and finally, why don't we all start saving up to buy this Neutra in Santa Monica together?
....Whew! You deserve a bloody mary after that marathon....
In the school blogs:
This week we heard from Michael in Houston about upcoming crits with Wolf Prix, while Danny seems to have misplaced his fire at Cooper Union, Colin is a bit fed up in Michigan, and Arjun is turning to energy sources that we are all familiar with at MIT.
....now on to the ranchos huevos....
In the discussions:
Some great threads popped up this week, including the popular Plant Identification Thread, the architects-as-one hit wonders thread, the spin off architects=musicians thread, and SandRoad asks us just what are we working on, anyway? (Also posted in the news.)
Finally, we had some existential crises this week in the forums. Perennial provocateur mdler wondered aloud about blobby building upkeep, he tried to understand the teddy bear debacle in Sudan, and then he changed his screen name, prompting an elephant thong hunt which resulted in a name change extravaganza with a really annoying soundtrack. (PS. He wants it back.) 21Ronin asks us if research kills architectural creativity, and minimalicious presents us with a quarter-life dilemma. And garpike muses on what will happen when vado retro hits 10,000 posts. We're keeping our fingers crossed for the party. ;o)
By the way.....in case anyone is paying attention, all I want for Christmas is brunch, of course! And maybe a book, or 5.

Yeah!
Fantatic wrap-up, DubK. I could practically taste the mimosa and smoked salmon as I read!
congrats emily! *wavingdownspringstreet*
Wonder K, thanks for helping me catch up on things I've missed last week. I do like the comparison with Sunday Brunch.
