Kazuyo Sejima + Ryue Nishizawa l SANAA l has won an international design competition for the new learning center at EPFL University in Lausanne (link includes proposals from the less fortunate firms: OMA, H&dM, Nouvel, DS+R & others). via Dezain
It does remind me a lot of the agadir project which is for me the most interesting and beautiful project of OMA considering the time when it was designed. They both have all these villa savoya references.
But If you see all of SANAA's large scale proposals this project fits very well in their line of design.
Another thing, these photos of the aerial views of the model make the project look like a slice of Swiss Emmental cheese.

Wow !! they are so good i'm a huge sejima+nishizawa fan :)
this project looks like a cross between rem's agadir hotel (early 90's) and H&deM's digital media residence near san francisco ...
thanks for the link! cool to see the other proposals, too.

Zaha's entry looks particularly strong. Is that some kind of plinth that casts a shadow below? Looks like it would be an incredible approach.
MVRDV have already used this "concept" of form making...(rubber mat w/holes)

...but this program is thinner and will probably make a better building
