Etandah Organic Day Spa

Etandah Organic Day Spa

An experienced spa practitioner and business woman, Meagan Peters established Etandah Spa in its original location several years ago. What Meagan envisioned was an upscale boutique operation in the heart of her hometown, but limited by square footage and curb appeal her shop lacked the intended exposure and ambiance she was looking for. Meagan’s passion was not fully translating.

In its very essence, a spa should convey a sense of revitalization during the client’s experience. Meagan rallied to secure a prominent, vacant, downtown location to increase foot traffic and visibility, to see her dream fully realized. With a fresh canvas she approached Kelsey at N60º Interiors to help set Etandah apart from its former self.

Meagan needed space two treatment rooms, a pedicure room, a brow bar, manicure station, a staff room, and retail space for her Organic Skin Care lines. “We gutted the 1200 sq. ft. space to built our spa. Kelsey drew up the space plan, accounted for and specified lighting, flooring, furniture, wall paper, choosing spa chairs, electrical, paint colors, millwork drawings for the design of the retail store display cases, front reception desk and waiting lounge. Her design surpassed my expectation and was delivered in a very comprehensive detailed presentation”

Through consultation and conceptual discussions, Kelsey arrived at an industrial chic aesthetic with fresh design elements to guide the project. The space has a strong counter-balance of soft and raw elements. The ceilings were opened up and painted black, complimented by faux concrete luxury vinyl floor tiles by Johnsonite (I.D. Stone Concrete  - Charcoal), to give the space it’s ‘industrial’ backdrop. A sliding door opening to the pedicure room and black cage pendant lights are elements that contribute to the industrial look as well. Pastels paint colours for the treatment rooms were pulled from Calico Wallpaper’s ‘Inverted Spaces’ line featured on the main wall behind the retail desk. 3 ‘Neuvo’ glass orb pendants hang above the reception desk. Cooper Trent Austin Design accent sconces stand out against a Benjamin Moore ‘Ocean Tropic’ (link text) accent wall in the pedicure room.

The 7’6” long custom designed maple desk is topped with a poured concrete top and the 11’0” long maple retail shelving is accented with copper piping.  A maple built-in waiting bench has soft taupe coloured velvet cushion top and bolsters.

“I am happiest with N60º Interiors’ millwork designs. The design for my shelving display, reception desk and lounge (built in couches) are my favorite parts of the spa. I am in love this the wallpaper N60º chose. It is amazing!”

“I would recommend Kelsey to anyone looking for expert advice and design, the smartest thing I did for my project was hiring her. She has an ability to understand your ideas and put them into reality. She is amazing at what she does!”
