This post is a good reminder of how very good early OMA work was. The new stuff just doesn't have the same level of vitality for me.

Koolhaas just isn't as involved anymore. The NY office is basically producing Gensler-level work while still banking on the OMA brand. Rotterdam still does cool projects but at some point in the past decade, the firm's biz folks reined in financial excess to whip the company into shape.

I do love this house - and the fact that its not too far from Pessac, with the other Corbusier work makes me wonder if there was a corbusian logic behind this too. And yes the new stuff is very corporate...
