So the reason why I am writing this post is due to an observation that I have noticed in the industry. Recently, I have moved cities and was trying to find a remote job online as a drafter or arch. designer, and I have noticed how rare it is to find a remote job as an architect, usually all of them require that you at least live in the nearby area of where the office is located. I wonder what you think of this, especially if the intern of the junior architect is tasked with drafting or other design processes that don't require them to go to the construction site.

If you're that detached from the process, it's a lot more likely you'll be looking for a temp position as a drafter or something.
Currently working in a heavily remote operating office, the observation that is being made is that the opposite of what you are saying is the concern. Most of us are concerned about the impact not being in the office has on more entry level staff. It's more difficult to integrate and support people who are new to the profession. Inversely, most of the more experienced staff only really need to be around as support for those people, or for meetings. In my observation, progression in the field is largely related to autonomy, so this seems like the logical challenge.
That said, I don't think many offices are looking to hire entry level people who are remote, it seems impractical and frankly unnessiary as the market is still fairly saturated.

Seconding this. It’s very challenging to onboard and mentor junior level staff remotely. It’s a lot easier to coordinate with team members remotely if they are specialists with a ton of experience.

Agreed, I'm junior and prefer being in the office simply to have access to my supervisors/mentors any time I need. Super difficult when I'm working from home (one day a week). Can't imagine learning and advancing from remote work.

I have had remote staff for years. It only works with senior staffers who spent years in the office to know the systems, associates, local codes etc. It was a near catastrophe when i tried with new entry level or others who weren't completely aware of our systems. Management of personal and daily contact is essential.
