I recently attended a concert at Oxford Town Hall (the Unthanks) and was blown away by the beautiful Interior, it did occur to me that it has become well worth renovating these spaces now that people are no longer allowed to smoke in them. Meanwhile I wondered if anybody here could answer some questions it inspired;
1) How are the "Mouldings" particularly those in the dome made are they cast or carved? What material?
2) Are the Mouldings in the dome curved? it looks like they are, and if so and they are cast, how was this done?
3) How was the dome constructed and how are the "Mouldings" supported ?
4) Was / has there been anything in print about it?
