I am an undergraduate student transferring from University of Michigan as an art student to Lawrence Tech to study Architecture. Are there any resources, such as online databases or books that I should be aware of so that I may stay current with design.

Staying current implies trendiness. You're not going to architecture school to learn about what's cool right now. You should be going to learn how to create what is desired in the moment and over time. You learn to be adaptable to changes in the industry.
There are, obviously, technological advances that you can track. But, those aren't all that crucial in your early stages of Architectural learning. Just study what made the industry what it is, and you'll be miles ahead.
