If you were able to learn and master any foreign language in order to further your career, what would it be and why?
It might be that you always deal with contractors that have limited English skills or it might be that you've always wanted to practice in a certain locale where English is not spoken.
Anyways, it's Friday and I figured I'd start the weekend early by asking something fun-ish.

If you want to work for BIG they have a strong preference that you speak Danish, even in their US office.

But think of all the Chinese contractors/clients you could potentially reach because you know Mandarin. If anything, it provides another means for you to develop a relationship with someone.

I studied Dutch till I got to the phrase:
Het is een bruine deur.
Which made me sound like I was just talking funny.

One of my few regrets is not following through with learning Mandarin Chinese. About 5 years ago I was at a basic conversational level. Seems like I've forgotten 90% of it.
I always thought I'd pick it back up post-ARE. I guess this is the year...

In grad school I wanted to work in China, or at least *do* work in China from a US base. Never too late to start, I suppose.

Woa baby, I didn't know you were into genocide games like that. Now we need to clarify what you said. "jebi se" means "go fuck yourself", but "odjebi se" means "go unfuck yourself", or simply "fuck off". I just need to know how gentle we should start before we get really rough.

I would like to learn Chinese. It is very difficult, but, as for me, very promising. As much as our policy is against China, and their industry is a huge niche for growth.
