I am currently working on
my research thesis regarding preservation in urban scale and I would
like some assistance.
I am interested in
comparing the legislation about the protection of preserved buildings
in different countries.
Particularly, I would like
to know what age a building must be in order to be qualified to be
declared as preserved in each of the following countries:
US, UK, France, Italy,
Spain, Netherlands, Switzerland, China, Japan .
However, if you have any
information about other countries that are not mentioned above, I’m
still interested :)
I actually have access to
information for the first two countries ( US 50 + years, UK 30 +
years, please let me know if I'm wrong) but it is hard for me to find
out what is valid for the rest because I can't find anything relevant
written in English.
So I guess, any assistance
from individuals that are able to provide me with this information
would be valuable.
In case you can find the
information needed for any country, it would be extremely helpful, if
you could attach any relevant link, containing this information, so I
could use it as a reference in my research thesis (even if it is not
written in English).
By the way in Greece it's
100+ years.

I don't have a lot of information but I would look into Cuba and Havana especially as they are now grappling with the need for historic preservation as a way of ensuring their economic future as a tourist destination. A lot is changing since the US began lifting travel restrictions and there is now a city wide campaign to preserve historic architecture.
