I'm an MArch student in the United Kingdom who is looking to do a summer internship in the United States. Although I've had two years of experience on historic buildings, I feel I want to expand my experience with regard to the type of practice I have worked in.
Although I am eligible for a J1 Visa for an internship, I'm finding it difficult to find firms which will even consider someone who would need sponsorship. Has anyone from outside the US managed to secure an internship with sponsorship and is it a feasible option I should continue pursuing?
Thanks

Unless you're pursuing a degree in the US, I would say it's technically impossible. Sponsoring a visa is a major expense for offices, and they wouldn't spend that extra money for someone who'll only work for a couple months at the most.
