In general, what does Acquisition and Marketing department do in architecture firms?

Acquire and market stuff.
Acquisition receives requests from staff, evaluates and processes them for purchase.
Marketing calls potential new clients, goes to conferences where potential new clients are, purchases advertisement, coordinates publishing, issues news bits, writes proposals.
