This might be a silly question but figured I would go ahead and ask. Has anyone ever successfully negotiated with a school for a higher financial aid package? Either by reaching out and arguing your case to your top school or letting them know you got a better package at a comparable school but are more interested in theirs? I've read through old threads and seen some people allude to doing that.
I figure that it can't hurt. The worst that happens is the schools says no, and therefore I can't afford it but you never know if you don't ask. Looking for tips from anyone who may have successfully done this.
Thanks!

Yes. Just ask. Explain how you are seriously considering them, but school "b" is offering you more. You might fail, but it's worth asking.

Thanks @gruen , that's exactly my plan.
