I remember a similar lawsuit against Rem and a student connected to the LA county art museum.
The notion that the only good idea is a new idea”¦or rather the only genuine idea is “your” idea is a troubling one”¦.suggesting the formal qualities in reality can be materialized independently from a direct source”¦and so designers feel inclined to take inspiration from anywhere but architecture...and perhaps the political sphere shows the most current transformation in our practice”¦one that isn't derived from a formal set of tools and geometries”¦but one that is structured on the originality of the source”¦.denying a “true” form”¦and embracing “my form”

Nearly every building has it's doppelganger. Planning commissions and departments pretty much demand this today...they call it context.

I know a lot of students who have phoned in a studio by copying a building from a firm... i think that is the most troubling "copy" to me.
What about this? Is there room for patents in architecture?
