About

I am currently working on class base extension project in Suffolk, where i am doing BIM Coordination using REVIT 2012 Architecture, Structure, MEP and Naviswork. I am exploring advantages of 4D (Time) and 5D (Cost) BIM construction methods.

Employment

Atkins, Colchester, GB, BIM Coordinator

My current employer is internationally based multidiscipline practice, and I have gained experience working for architects, building surveyors, project managers and mechanical, electrical and structure engineers in development of drawings. Consequence I have gained a wide body of experience in a wide variety of projects ranging in value from £13 Million new build schemes to - £1.5M new extensions. A review of my headline project is provided on the following page.Initially my main duties were measured surveys, collecting, organizing and investigating technical information for use developing construction drawings. Subsequently my role developed through practical experience to analyze of site based problems and developing proposed solutions. Without supervision I now conduct full measured surveys, create BIM Models with complete working drawings sets including 3d modelling and rendering with complex sectional details.

Atkins introduces BIM throughout its international business and I was consequently selected for training in Autodesk Revit Architecture. To date I have undertaken three large design schemes in Revit and highlighting the main advantages which are better cost control and predictability and improved overall project quality. I am now involved in the rollout of the BIM tool to the other offices

Education

University of East London, Docklands, MArch, MA

I enrolled on an Architectural HND course at the National College of Arts Lahore 1999 -2002.
This course developed my technical knowledge of design providing a solid foundation in residential and commercial works. Whilst studying I joined small architecture practice to gain valuable practical design experience, involving restoration and conservation work on small value projects. In 2003 I enrolled in Masters of Architecture at University of East London Docklands Campus studying art in architecture focused in developing and enhance creative and judgemental architectural design methods. Details of course modules can be provided upon request.

My thesis was focused on a design derived from golden mean ratio and its possible derivatives; and was well received by the course tutor and jurors. My ability to use a range of media / software (drawings, models, CAD, photography) has continued to develop and expand as part of my overall career progression.
