The Interactive House Sitter
The Interactive House Sitter is a conceptual functional art chair especially suited for use during the pandemic. It is made of painted wood, 62 inches tall, 23 inches deep, and 18 inches wide. The top portion of the chair is formed into an iconic house shape that is hinged onto the backrest. Two stops built into the backrest of the chair hold the house into a vertical position. If someone decides to sit on the chair they have the option of reaching back and pulling the house over their head into a fixed horizontal position, which is held in place by two more stops built into the backrest of the chair. The Interactive house sitter can then look out of the house through two large picture windows cut out of the front of the house between the doorway. When it is time to leave the chair, the sitter just has to push the house back out of the way into the vertical position in order to stand up.
Conceptually, when a person is sitting in the chair with the little house pulled down over their head, they are symbolically sitting in the house. During the pandemic, multiple chairs can be used for guests in order to keep the gathering more Covid virus safe!
