SYNESTHESIA - S e n s [ E ] S cape

Zone of cleansing through mediated interactions by way of experiments which mix paired senses. We are creating distractions and shocks to the overly mediated society system. Material and methods forced differences to occur in affect. The project reprieves the user’s anxiety from the over-exposure from the city and the media. Voided spaces of heightened sense. We will be exploring the impact that an architectural space has on our experience of leisure by studying the way in which this space filters and shapes a user’s sensory perception. The end goal of this research is to create spaces which people can use to escape from sensory overload, along with the overwhelming discomfort that comes with it, that they face everyday in Manhattan. By exploring how different spatial conditions offer people a place of sensory isolation or amplification, we can speculate how it translates to leisure.---
