About

Hello, my name is Melissa Reilly. Simply put, I love learning and drafting. I have a degree in Interior Design, but have decided that Architecture is the true path I want to follow in life. I have always been fascinated with figuring out how things were built.

I worked in an Architecture and Engineering firm for eight years, seven of which were as a Project Assistant / Designer. By starting in the Administrative department, I was able to grasp a firm understanding of what it takes to keep the business organized and running smoothly so that the Architects can focus on the technical work and the needs of the clients.  The firm was historically focused on the forensic side of architecture, which has therefore provided me with a valuable experience in waterproofing and proper construction practices.

Currently I work for UpCodes as an Associate SME illustrating the various codes that are hosted on the site. This allows me to really dive deep into the building codes and get a more detailed understanding of the requirements surrounding the construction industry.

I have completed all of the required hours through the Architectural Experience Program (AXP) and am currently in the process of taking the AREs.
