Gray Area Design, Architecture and Interior Design

Our work strives for clarity of thought, simplicity in execution, and a smooth sequential flow of space enhanced by the use of sumptuous lighting, materials, and color. A successful design relies on the collaboration of the client, the design team, and the craftsmen. We aim to create a seamless dialogue amongst the team members. We take pride in excellent management skills, on budget and on schedule projects. Our work includes exterior and interior construction as well as the selection and design of interior finishes and furniture. Where appropriate we follow LEED and WELL design standards.

2015: VIDDERS RESIDENCE, 3000 sq. ft interior design and furnishing following WELL design standards.

2014: FRATTER RESIDENCE, 5000 sq.ft downsizing into 2 apartments.

2012: GRISCOME VOLKMAN, 3000 sq. ft new duplex design, including new stair.

2010: BOIM RESIDENCE, upper east side, nyc: 500 sq.ft apartment.

2009: YOGA STUDIO, brooklyn,ny. 1200 sq.ft. loft space.

2009: FARMHOUSE, upstate ny. 2000 sq.ft., 18th century farmhouse

2008: MARTIN RESIDENCE, soho, nyc. 500 sq.ft. apartment.

2007: ANKASA BOUTIQUE, upper east side, nyc. 5000 sq. ft boutique.

2006: DILLON RESIDENCE & GRISCOM RESIDENCE, tribeca, nyc. 2500 sq.ft & 1500 sq.ft loft apartments.


2004: HERRMAN RESIDENCE &KAMIN RESIDENCE, upper west side , nyc. 2600 sq.ft., 2000 sq.ft. pre-war apartments.
