Powerhouse

Thesis Statement:
Powerhouse strives to create an environmentally sustainable development on the Delaware River that uses the unique history of the Waterfront as a stimulant for redevelopment, while offering unique public amenities to the Philadelphia community.

Project Description:
The re-development of the Delaware River Waterfront has long been the center of urban planning and architectural studies in Philadelphia.    While much attention has been given to the areas adjacent to Old City, the section of waterfront in the developing Fishtown and Northern Liberties neighborhood has remained relatively unplanned.  My thesis focused on the adaptive reuse of an historic turbine building and the addition of a new mixed use facility consisting of 275 residential units, 50,000SF of Commercial Space and other public amenities such as a boat dock and open air plaza.
