This project focused on expressing structural elements in the design of a velodrome, a space used for track bike races.
My design utilized primary, secondary and tertiary structural systems to create a fluid, organic form that related to the adjacent riverfront.
The roofing material is a translucent polycarbonate which would create a diffused natural light during the day.
Given the proximity to the river, I created a manmade lagoon on the site, with boardwalk style pathways connecting the existing riverwalk to the Velodrome entrances.
Additionally, branding and graphics were considered, and a logo was created that utilizes the shape of a bicycle.
