Project Background:
Hired by the city of Dalton, Georgia this studio project aimed to provide revitalization ideas for the Historic Crown Mill District, along with various other locations in the city.
Located in the older area of town, Crown Mill is currently a community primarily populated with hispanic immigrants.
With Dalton, GA being the “Carpet Capital of the World” a large migration boom has taken place in the last couple decades. The goal of this project was to connect the Crown Mill Neighborhood with its Dalton neighbors through three methods. The three primary aspects of the proposal consisted of implementing Farmers Market, Urban Gardens, and the Restoration of the Historic Crown Mills.
