About

I'm currently seeking any new and engaging employment opportunities that can provide me with a reasonable level of compensation based upon my educational background and work experience. I tend to thrive in both team oriented work environments as well as promptly and competently complete tasks on my own. In both life and the workplace, I quickly adapt to new roles, responsibilities and technology with little to no resistance. However, I’m not afraid to speak out when I feel that a given task is not in my skill set, or doesn’t pertain to the job. Ideally, I’d like to find an employer that provides the same level of respect that they themselves expect to receive from their employees.

Please don't hesitate to contact me with any and all opportunities.

Thank you.

Terry Hunziker Inc., Seattle, WA, US, Project Manager / Architectural Drafter

My role contained four stages of design; Design Development, Design Production, Design Management and Design Installation.

The first stage would begin after a site visit and meetings with the client, contracting firm and an architecture firm. Development usually starts with elevation and plan prints followed by hand sketching over trace to break up and plan out spaces. This space planning is often done for all furniture and built-ins. This often includes bathroom vanities, buffets, pantries and kitchen cabinetry; which are usually designed in tandem with the furniture.

Design Production would be the next phase, where all interior architectural items from the sketches are translated into a digital format using AutoCAD for floorplans and elevations. SketchUp is often used for both built-ins and furniture drawings. Once costs are determined, drawings are finalized and interior renderings are completed, then the process moves into the next stage following the client’s approval.

This stage, design management, requires the review and often red line markup of shop drawings for various built-ins throughout each project. The furniture fabricators will often request site verification for dimensions necessary for items like headboards, sofas and built-ins. If the site is close, I would often drop by to get some of those measurements, otherwise it requires an RFI to the contractor. This is also the time when finishes and fabrics are either finalized or furnished to the fabricators before moving along to the next and final stage.

Design Installation is the final stage and often includes the organizing, labeling, shipment and installment of all furniture items. After all the items have arrived onsite, it was often my job to review the manifest along with floor plans to direct the movers of each item to the appropriate location within the residence as items were unloaded. Once in place, felt pads are added where necessary, furniture would then be faced appropriately and lamp plugs run to their necessary locations.
