About 

Architect Orrego graduated from the University Ricardo Palma of Lima-Peru in 1987 and he is a member of the Architects Association since 1988. He has specialized in different project areas where recent projects standout such as corporate offices, commercial projects and large scale projects.

On 2014 he was commissioner for the Peruvian participation in the Venice Biennale and manager of the Peruvian pavilion for the next twenty years. That same year he founded alongside 40 offices the Asociación Peruana de Estudios de Arquitectura (Peruvian Association of Architecture Studios) and his CASA LINEAL project was one of the finalists of the XVI BIENAL DE ARQUITECTURA PERUANA (XVI PERUVIAN ARCHITECTURE BIENNALE).

On 2012 he participated in the collective showing “Yucún, habitando el desierto” that was presented on the 13TH VENICE ARCHITECTURE BIENNALE and then became an itinerating showing through some South-American cities.

For the Cerámica San Lorenzo company he designed the ceramic series Metrópolis, with the City and Mistura lines, and for American Colors he has developed several distinct thematical portfolios.

He has been a blogger for the Semana Económica magazine with his column INMOBILIARIA X between the years 2011 and 2014.

On March 2011 he formed part of the founding members of the Peruvian chapter of the Green Building Council.

On 2010 his work ALTOMAYO received the First Prize in Interior Design on the XIV BIENAL DE ARQUITECTURA PERUANA (XIV BIENALLE OF PERUVIAN ARCHITECTURE) and his proposal for the EDELNOR enterprise won a mention.

On 2009 he received a prize in the CALIDAD ARQUITECTÓNICA contest for the design of BRAILLARD.

On 2007 he obtains the IIDA 2007 prize on the 34th annual edition of IESNA LIGHTING DESIGN AWARDS, which brings together the world´s most representative illumination projects. In this opportunity he was awarded the PAUL WARTERBURY PRIZE FOR OUTDOOR AWARD OF EXCELLENCE for the application of LEDs on the PROFUTURO building.

In 2006 he was awarded on the XII BIENAL NACIONAL DE ARQUITECTURA (XII NATIONAL ARCHITECTURE BIENNALE) in Peru, for the interior design of the HSBC offices and for the remodeling of the PACIFICO office building. This same year he also received a mention in the contest CALIDAD ARQUITECTÓNICA (ARCHITECTURAL QUALITY) for the SAGA FALABELLA department store.

On 2005 he was awarded the PADIS prize, in the  category of commercial design, for the new image of the BEMBOS restaurant chain.

Architect Orrego's work has been permanently published in different national and international books and magazines, and with more than 25 years dedicated exclusively to design he currently leaders one of the most important architecture firms in Peru: "METRÓPOLIS OFICINA DE ARQUITECTURA"
